Getting Things Done
I bought a book called “Getting Things Done†by David Allen. It arrived on Monday.
I haven’t had time to read past the prologue yet.
Happy New Year, by the way.
Musical Breast Implants
Apparently, some researcher at BT is saying that, in the future, breast implants could be fitted with MP3 players.
How many songs can they hold? That depends on the size of the mammary.
Badum-tish. Thank you, I’m here all week.
Buttons
James’ friend’s cat had to be put down last week (age 12 years). James asked his mum where Buttons was now, and Heidi said he was probably in Cat Heaven.
Matthew said “Can *we* go to Cat Devon?”.
EU Software Patents Directive defeated!
What amazing news. The European Parliament voted 648 to 14 to reject the Computer Implemented Inventions directive. This is almost better news than the announcement that London will host the 2012 Olympic Games.

Chemistry professor claims his discovery will spell the end for soap powder on wash day
Richard Pashley, a professor of physical chemistry at the Australian National University in Canberra, has discovered that when tiny air “particles” are removed from water - a process known as “de-gassing” - the water lifts oily stains from the surface of clothes, allowing soap-free cleaning.
Prof Pashley said that the technique was so effective that even the greasiest stains could be removed. “You can use de-gassed water to clean whatever you have dirtied. We even experimented with Vaseline. We cleaned it off completely. This is a new area of science - the mixing of oil and water. It could be a cleaning revolution.”
