Some more news about the connectivity problem, and also an update on the insurance claim for my bonnet…

This site is currently hosted at my house, and is being served to you via my ADSL connection. At the moment the link seems to be up and down like a hooker’s pants, and apparently BT have scheduled a replacement fibre optic cable in the exchange to fix it. The work is supposed to happen on the 10th Feb, in the meantime I’m afraid we’ll all have to live with it.

I live on a fairly narrow double-parked street of terraced houses. Because of the road width you very quickly become adept at parallel parking. Occasionally though you come across bad parking…

The body shop has confirmed that the bonnet is beyond repair, so have submitted a quote to replace the bonnet and front grilles, and straighten the metal panel in front of the top of the radiator. The labour comes to £360, the paint and materials £155, and of course the parts need buying as well. I have sent the quote to my insurance company and I await their decision.

My car got hit on the way home from work this evening! Early indications are that I definitely need a new grille, and more than likely a new bonnet. I will know better when I see it in the light tomorrow morning.

I carried out this repair ages ago. Although you could still select reverse (and all the other gears), my reversing lights didn’t work, and my passenger side rear view mirror didn’t dip.

Replacing the fuel filter is a fairly easy job requiring a minumum of tools. It will probably take you about an hour.
